Topics commonly addressed include antenatal and postnatal care, nutrition during pregnancy, newborn care, breast feeding and family planning. These sessions are conducted in local languages wherever needed to ensure better understanding and accessibility for patients and caregivers. The department also takes initiative in celebrating Breastfeeding Week annually, involving both undergraduate and postgraduate students in planning and executing awareness programs, role plays, and poster exhibitions.

Departmental Meetings & Planning

Monthly departmental review meetings are conducted. Regular review of teaching plans, clinical schedules, and student feedback. Coordination with hospital OBG unit for student postings and improvement of clinical learning outcomes.

Faculty Development Initiatives

The department is committed to enhancing faculty competencies through Faculty Development Programs (FDPs) conducted periodically. FDPs have focused on innovative teaching methods, research capacity building, qualitative research, and clinical teaching strategies. Collaborative workshops with postgraduate students are also conducted, enhancing both faculty mentoring experience and student academic exposure. Faculty actively attend and contribute as resource persons, speakers, and panelists in workshops, CNEs, and academic forums organized both within and outside the institution.
