Bachelor of Occupational Therapy
The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT) program at St. John’s Medical College is a newly established academic initiative under the Allied Health Sciences division of one of India’s most esteemed medical institutions. Introduced in November 2025, the program commenced with an inaugural batch of seven students under the guidance of three dedicated teaching faculty members and five experienced clinical therapists. This focused academic environment enables individualized mentorship, strong theoretical foundations, and early development of professional competence.
BOT students benefit from the collective expertise of more than twenty pre-clinical, para-clinical, and clinical departments, promoting comprehensive interdisciplinary learning and exposure to diverse therapeutic approaches. Training takes place within the expansive 140-acre campus of St. John’s Medical College, a self-contained academic ecosystem equipped with state-of-the-art laboratories, a well-resourced central library, modern hostel facilities, student activity spaces, and extensive academic and co-curricular support systems that foster intellectual and personal growth.
A defining strength of the program is its close integration with the attached teaching hospital, which provides students with early and continuous clinical exposure. Through supervised patient care, hands-on therapeutic practice, and real-world clinical experience, students gain practical skills essential for professional readiness. This immersive training prepares graduates to serve effectively in diverse fields including rehabilitation, community health, pediatrics, mental health, geriatrics, and specialized therapy settings.
The Bachelor of Occupational Therapy program at St. John’s Medical College aims to nurture competent, compassionate, and service-oriented professionals, grounded in academic excellence and clinical expertise, and supported by one of India’s finest medical education environments.
