Validation of deep learning technology and algorithms in training systems for analysing medical diagnostic images

Project Description

Deep Learning is a very promising artificial intelligence technology capable of learning from large amounts of image data provided to it. The objective of this study is to validate the accuracy, precision, specificity and sensitivity of deep learning algorithms in detection of abnormal condition from diagnostic medical images techniques. The study would also compare the outcomes of deep learning algorithms with diagnosis that have been confirmed by specialists, and thus helping to establish the level of accuracy and precision of this technology.  The condition being studied is interstitial lung disease (ILD) in coordination with the Department of Chest Medicine and the Department of Radiology, St. John’s Medical College Hospital.
