Project Description
The burden of non-communicable diseases especially cardiovascular diseases is high in India and it increases with age. The mainstay of treatment for these chronic diseases are life long medications and regular follow-up. A post graduation dissertation done in our institution in the year 2013-2014 reported non-adherence of 30.71% among elderly (> 60 years). Hence, this is a pilot study proposed to evaluate the effect of systematic education and reminders using a diary and mobile phone on medication adherence among elderly.
