Accurate estimation of changes in body composition, energy balance and nutritional status of Indian children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) during cancer treatment
Project Description
This project will longitudinally assess malnutrition and body composition changes in Indian children with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia from diagnosis through chemotherapy. Using accurate measures of body cell mass (BCM) and fat mass (FM). The study also examines how diet and physical activity modulate BCM loss and energy imbalance, develop a practical anthropometry-based equation to predict BCM for routine monitoring. The findings will generate the first India-specific evidence to guide nutrition assessment and targeted interventions aimed at improving treatment tolerance and reducing long-term metabolic risk among ALL survivors.
