Shashank K M is a Medico Social Worker and Doctoral Research Scholar, Division of Mental Health and Neurosciences, currently working with the Hospital Based Cancer Registry under the National Cancer Registry Programme of ICMR–NCDIR at SJNAHS, where he is involved in the reporting of cancer patients from SJMCH. His research work focuses on psychosocial oncology and oncology social work practice, with particular emphasis on delayed health-seeking behavior among breast cancer patients. His research interests include interventions for early detection of breast cancer, strengthening cancer awareness, circulating tumor cells and patient reported outcome measures in cancer care. He is particularly interested in mixed-methods research, implementation, and evaluation of problem-solving interventions in oncology settings.
