Patterns of Drug Use and Adverse Drug Reactions in Patients with Autoimmune Bullous Disease (AIBD).
INTRODUCTION: Autoimmune bullous diseases are characterized by blisters in the skin and mucos membrane. Predominantly seen in Ashkenazi Jews, Southeast Asians and elderly. Based on site of bullae formation, they are grouped- ‘Pemphigus’ (intraepidermal blisters) and ‘Pemphigoid’ (subepidermal bullae) group. Auto antibodies target components of the epidermis or dermoepidermal junction (DEJ) leading toinflammatory cascade and blister formation.
