Experience-based Procedure Card for Robotic Right Hemicolectomy Using SSI Mantra Indian Robotic Surgical System

Background:
SS Innovations has recently launched the made-in-India robotic surgical system SSI Mantra. Unlike the Da Vinci which is the predominant system in current use, this system has four robotic arm carts that are docked separately.
Aims:
The aim herein is to present present the optimal surgical technique of robot assisted radical right hemicolectomy using the SSI mantra robotic system based on our initial experience.
Materials and methods:
We acquired the SSI Mantra in September 2023 at Aster International Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru and operated on a total of 35 cases.
Results:
The result of our initial experience is this procedure guide for the beginner surgeon embarking on robotic radical hemicolectomy on the SSI Mantra. Port placements, docking and surgical technique are explained in detail with photographs.
Conclusion:
Robot assisted right radical hemicolectomy is feasible on SSI mantra with good outcomes.
