Kidney transplantation is a life saving procedure for children with kidney failure and is the treatment of choice for children with kidney failure. It not only offers survival benefit but also improves quality of life.1 Induction agents at the time of kidney transplantation are routinely used to decrease the risk of rejection. Type of induction agent to be used are based on immunologic risk stratification.2 There is no evidence on efficacy of various induction agent on rate of rejection, graft and patient survival in children as there is no randomized control trial comparing various induction agents.2 Hence the choice of induction agents in pediatric kidney transplantation varies from centre to centre and is largely based on individual practice.
