Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is a major public health challenge in India, driven by dietary transitions, sedentary lifestyles, and limited access to personalized nutritional counselling. Dietary modification remains a cornerstone of diabetes management; however, conventional dietary advice is often generic, difficult to sustain, and inadequately tailored to individual glycaemic responses. Advances in Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) enable real-time assessment of glucose fluctuations, while Artificial Intelligence (AI) offers opportunities to deliver adaptive, personalized dietary guidance. Integrating CGM-derived glycaemic metrics with AI-based diet optimization has the potential to improve glycaemic control beyond standard care in Indian patients with T2DM.
