I am a professor at department of psychiatry with more than 15 years of experience in managing individuals with mental health conditions in a general hospital psychiatry setting. I am in charge of Assertive Management of Attempted Suicide (AMAS)-A consultation liaison psychiatry service for those at risk of suicide

I work with adult individuals (this includes young adults to the elderly) with all kinds of mental health issues like depression, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, Bipolar and other mood disorders, attention deficit disorder and autism spectrum disorders. I also work with individuals with multiple medical and psychiatric comorbid conditions. 

My areas of interest include suicide prevention, depression, anxiety and chronic mental health issues.

 

 

Qualification/ Education

MBBS from MGM Medical College, Mumbai university

DNB in Psychiatry as accredited by National Board of Examination

Experience

Clinical experience: As of January 2026, 18 years of experience in general hospital psychiatry with management of patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.

Teaching experience: As of January 2026, 18 years of experience in teaching psychiatry to undergraduate medical, nursing and other healthcare students. I am a recognized postgraduate teacher in psychiatry under Rajiv Gandhi of Health Sciences since November 2019,

Research experience: I have completed ICMR projects as site principal investigator and co-investigator in digital interventions, suicide prevention and anxiety disorders.
