Dr. Chaitanya H. Balakrishnan is a clinician and academic with expertise in clinical haematology and bone marrow transplantation. A graduate of Kempe Gowda Institute of Medical Sciences, Bengaluru, he went on to complete his MD in General Medicine (Gold Medallist), MRCP (UK), and DrNB in Clinical Haematology and BMT at St. John’s. His training and research have focused on haematological malignancies, immune thrombocytopenia, and bleeding disorders.
He has been widely recognized for his excellence in teaching, receiving the Pioneer’s Award for Excellence in Teaching and being voted Best Teacher for five consecutive years (2020–2025). Alongside his teaching, Dr. Chaitanya has contributed to national and international publications, presented at major conferences, and served as investigator in multiple clinical studies, including projects on immunization practices, polycythemia, and post‑COVID outcomes.
