"Set Right the Setup Errors in Radiotherapy" Draws Technologists from Across India and Abroad

On Sunday, June 22, 2025, the Department of Radiation Oncology at St. John's Medical College Hospital, St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, hosted a highly successful one-day Continued Medical Education (CME) program for Radiotherapy Technologists. Held in Lecture Hall 1, the event titled "Set Right the Setup Errors in Radiotherapy" was a hit, attracting over 150 delegates from all corners of the country and even internationally!

The CME's hybrid format, offering both in-person attendance and a convenient Zoom link, played a key role in its broad appeal. More than 10 esteemed faculty members from leading institutions in Bengaluru and beyond shared their expertise, enriching the program significantly.

The inaugural ceremony was a distinguished affair, with Rev. Fr. Jesudoss Rajamanickam, Director of St. John's National Academy of Health Sciences, gracing the event as Chief Guest. Dr. George D'Souza, Dean of St. John's Medical College, presided, while Rev. Fr. Tony AJ, Associate Director of Finance, was the Guest of Honor. Other notable attendees included Rev. Fr. Ajith Kerketta (Associate Director, St. John's Medical College Hospital and St. John's College of Nursing) and Rev. Fr. Wilson CD (Associate Director, St. John's Medical College Hospital at Brigade Meadows).

A highlight of the program was the scientific research paper presentation session, designed to foster a research mindset among technologists. Five delegates presented their insightful papers, and congratulations are in order for the two who received "Best Paper" awards and cash prizes!

The entire program was incredibly well-received, proving to be a grand success. A huge thank you goes out to all the dedicated faculty of Radiation Oncology, our enthusiastic technologists, medical physicists, postgraduate students, the secretary (Ms. Laisamma Thomas, Registration desk), nursing staff, and interns for their tremendous support. Special appreciation goes to the organizing team: Dr. Avinash H.U. (Professor and Head, Organizing Chair), Ms. Shibina Noorjahan (Senior Radiotherapy Technologist, Organizing Secretary), Dr. Nirmala S. (Professor Grade 1, Scientific Committee In-charge), Dr. Hadrian Noel Alexander (Assistant Professor, Food Committee) and Dr. Jayalekshmi Raju (Senior Resident, Reception Committee).
