Anatomy

The department of Transfusion Medicine and Immuno haematology offers diagnostic services in haematology, Immunohaematology and clinical pathology.

The academic courses offered include NMC recognised postgraduate MD course in Transfusion Medicine and M.Sc Medical Laboratory Technology course under the RGUHS. The department is actively involved in teaching MBBS and undergraduate allied health sciences courses

The haematology laboratory is a well-equipped referral laboratory, well known for its expertise in the lab diagnosis of Bleeding and thrombotic disorders. We offer diagnostic services including bone marrow examination, flow cytometry and molecular testing for haematological disorders

The lab offers diagnostic facilities for haemoglobinopathies and thalassemias.

The transfusion services offered include blood component therapy, donor apheresis and therapeutic apheresis. Peripheral blood Stem cell collections are performed in coordination with the adult and paediatric haematology transplant team. Leucapheresis, plasma exchange and red cell apheresis procedures have been performed

The HLA laboratory has been established HLA typing procedure ( low resolution) by SSP, CDC crossmatch and flow cytometric crossmatch for renal transplant patients
