Department of Orthopaedics started in the year 1976 under the leadership of Dr. K.T. Thomas (Late) and continued as head of the department till 1995.

Thomas and continued as head of the department till 1995. Dr. Rajagopalan N took over and continued as Head of Department for 2 terms. Currently Dr. Thomas Isaac heads the Department. The Unit of Hope (Unit for physically challenged children) was started under the guidance of Dr. Saji and Dr. Ramesh in August 18, 2004.artment for 2 terms.
