Anatomy

Department of Neurology provides outpatient and inpatient services for all neurological disorders. Disorders include headache, vertigo, backache, neck pain, fibromyalgia, stroke, seizure/epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, myasthenia gravis, GB syndrome, CIDP, Alzheimer’s Dementia, Parkinson’s disease etc. Diseases like headache are managed mostly in the outpatient setting while disease like stroke, GB syndrome, meningitis etc., are managed in the inpatient setting.

We run speciality clinics like the Neuroimmunology Clinic which caters to patients with multiple sclerosis, NMO spectrum disorders, MOG antibody associated disease, myasthenia gravis and autoimmune encephalitis. Refractory headache clinic takes care of truly refractory headache patients requiring newer monoclonal antibodies like erenumab and botulinum toxin injection and other rare types of headaches like trigeminal autonomic cephalagias.

The department has specialised epilepsy services equivalent to level 3 of NAEC (national association of epilepsy centers) criteria. We offer long term video EEG, intra operative EEG, implantation of vagal nerve stimulator and some types of epilepsy surgery.

We have all the facilities needed for investigating patients with all types of neurological disorders, which includes a fully equipped EEG lab and state of the art ENMG lab. In the ENMG lab we do nerve conduction study, repetitive nerve stimulation test, electromyography, visual evoked potential, auditory evoked potential, somatosensory evoked potential etc. We have a unique equipment to test the small nerve fiber function (autonomic function) called Sudoscan. We are also a tertiary care centre for stroke care, with  an in house, state of the art  cath lab facility where we do all types of stroke intervention like endovascular thrombectomy for arterial and venous strokes, carotid stenting etc.

As a department we have highly qualified staffs who are committed to high quality patient care and we work together for a holistic healing of the patient.
